Playa del Moro
An open beach on the shoreline of Corralejo Natural Park, in the municipality of La Oliva, part of the nine-kilometre run of beaches bordered by the largest dunes in the Canary Islands. The sand is jable, a white sand formed naturally by the erosion of seashells, and the water turns turquoise. Lobos and Lanzarote sit on the horizon. Access is from the FV-1 road.

The beaches along this stretch of north-eastern Fuerteventura belong to Corralejo Natural Park and run for nine kilometres bordered by the Corralejo Dunes, the largest in the archipelago. Access is from the FV-1 road, which follows the coast and has parking areas along its sides. Jable, the white sand born from the erosion of seashells, has exfoliating properties for the skin and gives this shoreline its characteristic colour, with the outlines of Lobos and Lanzarote in the distance.
This is a beach fully open to the Atlantic, with no natural shelter, and wind is part of the deal. Towards the southern end of the stretch the small, tucked-away coves dominate; further north the beaches become more family-oriented and gradually add services. Because this is a protected natural area, stick to the signposted accesses, do not pull up plants or take away stones or anything else from the environment, and carry out all your rubbish, cigarette butts included. Look at the state of the sea before swimming, since nothing here breaks the swell coming in from open water.
