Playa del Inglés
Golden-sand beach some three kilometres long on the south coast of Gran Canaria, next to the Maspalomas dunes, with a Blue Flag and a promenade of bars and shops.

Playa del Inglés is a golden-sand beach on the south coast of Gran Canaria, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. It runs for about three kilometres with an average width of some 80 metres, stretching from Punta Maspalomas to Playa de San Agustín and bordering directly on the Maspalomas dunes. It has held the European Blue Flag since 1988 and is one of the busiest beaches in the south of the island. Behind the sand runs the Costa Canaria seafront promenade, roughly five kilometres long and lined with bars, restaurants and shops.
A lifeguard service operates all year round and is reinforced during the summer months, and the sand is signposted. There is parking, along with adapted access points for people with reduced mobility. Some stretches are sheltered, and those are the sections families with children tend to use. As one of the most visited beaches in the south, it fills up in high season and around midday, particularly in the sectors closest to the promenade, which is worth bearing in mind when choosing what time to go.

Playa El Veril
Playa El Veril takes up the stretch of coast between San Agustín and the eastern end of Playa del Inglés, right below the Costa Canaria promenade. It is a run of small coves sheltered by volcanic rock spurs that break the wind and keep the water calmer than on the wide open beaches next door. The sand is dark and mixed with pebbles, so water shoes help. Showers, toilets, sunloungers and access ramps are all on site.
