Playa del Ingles
Wild black-sand beach in Valle Gran Rey, beneath the La Merica ridge.

Playa del Ingles is one of the most emblematic beaches of Valle Gran Rey, in the southwest of La Gomera. Far from the town centre and with barely any services, it keeps a wild character: a broad strip of black sand open to the northwest beneath the imposing La Merica ridge, with rock formations and strong surf. It is known for its sunsets, relaxed atmosphere and for being a beach where bathing calls for caution because of the currents.
