The Islas24 event submission form on a phone, with fields for name, date, time, venue and island

Your event is for everyone, not just your followers

In the Canary Islands, most events these days start life on Facebook: a poster, a post, a few shares. It works, but it only reaches people who already follow you. The tourist planning next weekend doesn't follow the local council's culture office page, and when they search Google for things to do in German, English or Hungarian, they won't find the post either. So village romerías, farmers' markets (mercadillos), small concerts and tastings mostly reach only people who happen to pass by. The Islas24 agenda fills exactly that gap, and submitting your event is free.

Why isn't Facebook enough?

  • Visible without an account. Anyone can open the agenda, with no need for Facebook or a sign-up.

  • People find it on Google too. The agenda is the most viewed part of the site, and search engines index it.

  • In four languages. Your event appears in Spanish, English, German and Hungarian. Holidaymakers can read when and where it starts in their own language.

  • It doesn't get lost in the feed. A post slips down the feed within a few days, but in the agenda your event stays visible for as long as it's current.

You don't have to leave Facebook. The agenda works alongside it and reaches the people your post doesn't.

What do we ask for when you submit?

On the event submission form, this is all we ask for:

  • the name of the event,

  • the start date, and the end date if it runs over several days,

  • the start time,

  • the venue, meaning the address or the town, and the island,

  • the category (Gastronomy, Concerts, Culture, Sport, Festivals & Pilgrimages, Markets),

  • a short description, in any language,

  • a link where we can check the date and time. This can be the organiser's website, the official programme, or even a Facebook or Instagram post,

  • an email address, which won't be shown. We'll only write to you if some information is missing.

You can also add a ticket link, a price and an image, but none of them is required.

What you don't need to do

You don't need to open an account, translate anything or look up coordinates. We translate the description into four languages and pin the venue on the map.

What happens after you submit?

We review it, and if it's a good fit for the agenda, we publish it. If anything is missing, we'll get in touch at the email address you gave us.

Tips for getting it published quickly

  • Exact time and exact venue. Only events with a time and a place go into the agenda, because visitors need to be able to find their way there.

  • A link we can check. The best is the official programme or your own post, showing both the date and the time.

  • Send it in good time. The sooner it goes up, the longer it's visible, and the more people can plan around it.

  • Only send an image if it's yours. Send a poster or a photo of your own that you have the right to use.

Who is it for?

Local council culture offices, fiesta committees, folklore associations, bands, venues and theatres, bars and wineries, hosts of yoga, surf and cooking workshops, organisers of children’s activities: anyone who organises something in the Canary Islands and wants more than just their followers to know about it.
