The Yaiza Extremo Sur holds its seventh edition, a mountain bike competition that once again brings MTB specialists and amateurs together in Playa Blanca. It is organised by Yaiza Town Council and Cronoline Eventos, with the support of Turismo Lanzarote and the Art, Culture and Tourism Centres (CACT), and in 2026 it is part of the 19th Lanzarote-Fuerteventura Inter-island Cup of the Canary Islands Cycling Federation. There are two routes, of 60 and 30 kilometres, which run entirely within the municipality of Yaiza over rural tracks and volcanic ground. The race has been held since 2020.
The main day is Saturday 7 November 2026, with start and finish on Calle La Concha in Playa Blanca, next to the THB Tropical Island hotel complex: the 60 km starts at 08:00 and the 30 km at 09:00, and the time limit for both is 13:30. On Friday 6 November the children's MTB race opens the event in the same start and finish area: children's bibs are handed out from 15:00 and the first starts are at 16:00; that Friday, from 15:00 to 19:00, adult bibs are collected at THB Tropical Island. Registration is open until Tuesday 3 November, unless places run out earlier, at cronolinecanarias.com.
