SURCO, a show by Domingo “El Colorao” – III ENATIMverified
SURCO is the new project by Fuerteventura timple player Domingo “El Colorao”, a tradition-based work in which established artists of traditional music share the stage with younger generations. It comes 20 years after his album Aulaga and 10 years after his show Jable. Part of III ENATIM, in Puerto del Rosario. Twenty years ago, Domingo “El Colorao” released Aulaga, a recording he conceived and directed and presented at the Alfredo Kraus auditorium. Ten years later, this timple player with a popular and classical training presented Jable, a roots show that, like Aulaga, brought together players and singers of traditional music. Now the Fuerteventura musician presents SURCO, a new work based on tradition.
In SURCO, the knowledge of established traditional musicians meets the energy of younger generations, and arrangements of some pieces sit alongside the spontaneity of folk musicians. It is part of III ENATIM and suitable for all audiences; admission is free with an invitation and a 10 euro deposit.
