Day of the Dead Altar Route 2026 in La Laguna: five altars in the historic centre
From 29 October to 7 November, the Altar Route of «Día de Muertos - Noche de Finados» brings together five altars in La Laguna: Fundación México Canarias (Plaza de la Concepción, 16), Fundación Cristino de Vera, Hotel Aguere, Casino de La Laguna and the ULL Master's in Gender Studies. Each stop has its own opening hours, and the route is walkable through the historic centre.
As part of «Día de Muertos - Noche de Finados», which La Laguna holds from 29 October to 7 November 2026 under the motto «La arquitectura de la memoria», the Altar Route invites you to walk to five Day of the Dead altars across the historic centre. The Mexican altar is an offering to remember those who are gone, and this year they are set up in cultural spaces, a hotel, the Casino and the University.
Opening hours: Fundación México Canarias (Plaza de la Concepción, 16), 10:30 to 13:30 and 17:00 to 20:30, on 31 October 10:30 to 18:00, closed on 7 November; on weekday mornings school groups with a booking have priority. Fundación Cristino de Vera - Espacio Cultural CajaCanarias (Calle San Agustín, 18), Tuesday to Friday 10:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 20:00, Saturday 10:00 to 14:00, closed on Sundays and public holidays. Hotel Aguere (Calle Obispo Rey Redondo, 55), Monday to Friday 9:00 to 20:00 and weekends 10:30 to 20:00. Casino de La Laguna (Calle Nava y Grimón, 7), daily 11:30 to 19:00. The ULL Master's in Gender Studies and Equality Policies, Monday to Friday 8:30 to 20:30.
