Romería de Charco del Pino: ox carts, parranda bands and local wine in southern Tenerife.
A week after the baile de taifas, Charco del Pino brings out the carts. The romería crosses the village with oxen, folk groups and food and wine handed to anyone watching from the kerb.
It falls on 15 August, feast of the Virgin of Candelaria, patron of the Canary Islands, making it one of the busiest romería days of the year.
