Caracolas, a music group rooted in Canarian tradition, presents “Matria” at the Jameos del Agua Auditorium in Haría: a musical and stage journey through the memory, roots and transformation of the women of the Canary Islands, the result of five years of research and the testimonies of 210 women from across the archipelago. Duration: 75 minutes. Tickets: €30, also with an optional cocktail afterwards.
“Matria” is a project by Caracolas, a music group rooted in Canarian tradition, born from five years of research and encounters with 210 women from across the archipelago, whose life stories, memories and experiences form the core of the work. In this musical and stage journey through the memory, roots and transformation of the women of the Canary Islands, oral tradition, inherited memory and Canarian roots music enter into dialogue with contemporary languages.
Testimonies gathered in heritage recovery projects such as Las Quince, Las Seis de Aguere and Mujeres de Fuego y Lava shape the narrative thread. The concert at the Jameos del Agua Auditorium in Haría lasts 75 minutes; tickets cost €30 and are also sold with a cocktail afterwards at Jameos del Agua. It takes place on Saturday 24 October 2026 at 20:00.
