Juego del Palo open day: beginners' workshops and school displaysverified
The Plaza de los Remedios, next to La Laguna cathedral, turns into a street open day for the juego del palo on Saturday 14 November. From 10:30 there are open beginners' workshops, exchange bouts and displays by the schools. It is the most approachable moment of the whole meeting for anyone who has never seen this traditional Canarian practice up close. Free to attend.
On Saturday 14 November 2026, from 10:30, the Plaza de los Remedios in San Cristóbal de La Laguna hosts the juego del palo open day of the 2nd International Meeting «Ciudad de La Laguna».
The morning programme includes beginners' workshops, exchange bouts and displays by the participating schools. The square sits next to the cathedral, in the middle of a historic centre listed as a World Heritage site, and attendance is free. At 12:00, in the same place, the 2nd Canarian Juego del Palo Contest takes place.
