The candidates parade in fantasy costumes several metres tall and weighing hundreds of kilos, mounted on wheeled frames.

The gala is framed by the Los Fregolinos concert on 16 February and the performance of the Agrupación Lírica La Zarzuela on 18 February, both at the Círculo de la Amistad XII de Enero. The theme of this edition is Roma Eterna: El Imperio del Carnaval.
