Nuestra Señora del Rosario festivities 2026 in La Olivaverified
La Oliva, in the north of Fuerteventura, celebrates the Nuestra Señora del Rosario festivities from 10 to 18 October. Highlights are the flag-raising with papahuevos giant heads and batucada on Tuesday 13, the Esteban Ramírez de León folk festival with Los Sabandeños on Friday 16, a big dance on Saturday 17 and the church service on Sunday 18. The heart of the festivities is the square by the church of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, in the centre of La Oliva.
The festivities in honour of Nuestra Señora del Rosario fill the square and streets of La Oliva for nine days with tradition, music, sport and activities for the whole family. It is organised by La Oliva council's festivities department, with the festival committee and the Asociación Cultural Raíz del Pueblo.
Highlights: Saturday 10, football matches at the Basilio Fuentes ground; Tuesday 13 at 19:00, flag-raising and parade with papahuevos and batucada; Wednesday 14 at 18:00, card tournament and dessert contest; Thursday 15 at 18:00, amigurumi crochet workshop (free, registration, from age 12) and at 19:00 the traditional singles v married football match; Friday 16 at 20:30, 28th Esteban Ramírez de León festival and a dance until 3:00; Saturday 17, bola canaria, envite, children's party 12:00 to 14:00 and a dance from 18:00 to 3:00; Sunday 18 at 12:30, church service, and at 18:00 a Moana tribute show.
