Santa Rita day in Araya: mass, procession and fireworksverified
Saturday 24 October is the main day of the Santa Rita festivities in Araya (Candelaria): at 19:30 a mass in the parish church, sung by the Agrupación Folclórica Igonce, followed by the procession of the image with the Las Candelas band and a fireworks display by the Hermanos Toste. The Santa Rita festivities run from 16 to 25 October, and almost the whole programme takes place in the village square.
Saturday 24 October 2026 is the central day of the Santa Rita festivities in Araya. At 19:30 the parish church of Araya holds a mass in honour of Saint Rita, celebrated by the parish priest Fray Gregorio Ramos Domínguez and sung by the Agrupación Folclórica Igonce.
Afterwards the image of Saint Rita is carried in procession, accompanied by the Las Candelas band, and the evening continues with a fireworks display by the Hermanos Toste. The open-air dance in the square follows at 22:30. It is part of the 2026 Santa Rita festivities in Araya (Candelaria), running from 16 to 25 October and organised by the Araya festival committee with the support of the A.C. Chaxacoy.
