Free and open to the public; registration is required.
The workshop takes a motivating approach to the process of quitting smoking and addresses the usual barriers and fears that make giving up tobacco difficult: withdrawal symptoms, relapses, and psychological and social dependence. It presents practical guidance for taking the first step, as well as the resources and support available, both professional and community-based, that make the process easier.
The aim is to strengthen the motivation to change and to show that quitting is an achievable, gradual and supported process. Faustino Afonso, a family and primary care doctor, leads the session, which is organised by the Health and Quality of Life Department of Adeje Town Council. It is open to the public and free of charge, with registration required. It takes place at the CDTCA on Thursday 12 November 2026, from 18:00 to 19:30.
