Carlos Varela returns to the stage with «Nada es como antes», an album that follows nine earlier records and explores change, emigration, loneliness, uprooting, nostalgia and the scars life leaves behind. It blends raw poetry with melodies that mix acoustic and contemporary sounds, and the theatre describes it as a very different work that reflects more than four decades of the musician and songwriter's development. Varela still writes as a chronicler of his time, true to his style and willing to try new sounds and rhythms.
