Ana Viciosa, la señora de Tinajo – Compañía Regañizaverified
Compañía Regañiza brings «Ana Viciosa, la señora de Tinajo» to the Auditorio de Jameos del Agua, a large-scale theatre, music and dance production about a woman in Lanzarote at the turn of the 17th century. It is inspired by Ignacio Romero's novel and combines two plays in one piece directed by Germán Barrios. 80 minutes, ages 14+, tickets €25. Friday 6 November 2026 at 20:00.
The show brings back the figure of a remarkable woman from Lanzarote at the end of the 16th and the start of the 17th century. After her husband dies in a pirate attack, widowhood gives Ana the freedom to manage her property without a man's guardianship: she turns down a new marriage, reorganises the work on her land and challenges the traditional ways of holding power, until rumours give her the name Viciosa. The conflict deepens when she saves Lucía de Cabrera, an enslaved Morisco woman accused of witchcraft by the villagers, and so confronts the Holy Office. The piece is inspired by Ignacio Romero's novel and combines two plays in a single production directed by Germán Barrios.
The 80-minute performance, recommended for ages 14 and up, takes place at the Auditorio de Jameos del Agua in Haría. Tickets cost €25; it is organised by the Cabildo de Lanzarote in collaboration with the Centros de Arte, Cultura y Turismo. The performance is on Friday 6 November 2026 at 20:00.
