The Teguise market, known locally as the Mercadillo de La Villa, fills the historic centre of the Villa de Teguise on Lanzarote. It began in March 1985, when a handful of vendors set up small stalls in those streets, and the town council now counts more than 500. Crafts of every kind are on offer, from ceramics and basketry to leather goods, alongside local products such as cheeses, wines and items made from cactus and aloe.
