Circular route from Vilaflor through Canary pine forest to the Paisaje Lunar, a cluster of eroded cones that look like another planet. A demanding trail.
The Pino Gordo is one of the largest known Canary Island pines: 45.12 metres tall with a circumference of 9.36 metres at chest height, according to the Vilaflor de Chasna town council, which puts its age at between 700 and 800 years. It stands just outside the village, at a laid-out viewpoint beside the Teide road, a few minutes' walk from the parking area.
