Parque Natural del Archipiélago Chinijo

North of Lanzarote, beyond the towering Risco de Famara, opens the Parque Natural del Archipiélago Chinijo, a world of islands and islets gathering La Graciosa, Alegranza, Montaña Clara and the Este and Oeste rocks. It was the first marine-terrestrial natural park declared in Spain, and today it protects landscapes of almost untouched calm, golden beaches and clear waters explored from the fishing village of Caleta de Sebo.

Beneath the surface, the archipelago holds extraordinary richness: more than 300 species of macroalgae have been catalogued here, and it hosts one of the country's largest seabird colonies. Its marine reserve, covering some 70,700 hectares, is the largest in Europe, a refuge for turtles, cetaceans and threatened species where sea life still finds room to thrive.
