Soraia Cardoso - X Canary Islands Fado Festivalverified
A cultural extension of the Festival de Fado de Canarias at the Teatro Guiniguada. Portuguese singer Soraia Cardoso, one of the new faces of fado, gives a concert built on emotion and on a voice that leaves nobody indifferent. She is accompanied by two of the most respected fado guitarists: Bernardo Saldanha on the viola de fado and Bernardo Romao on Portuguese guitar.
Cardoso reached a wide audience in 2018, when she finished third on The Voice Portugal, the first fadista to take fado that far in a format of the kind. A year later she received the Female Revelation Award from A Voz do Operário and began singing in the fado houses of Lisbon. Since then she has appeared at the Santa Casa Alfama fado festival, Super Bock em Stock and the Coliseo of Porto, among other stages.
Since 2023 she has been part of Fado sem Fim, a project mentored and produced by Aldina Duarte that began with a recital at the Fado Museum and led to the recording of two fados for a collective album. She was in the cast of the Sr. Vinho fado house between 2022 and 2024 and now sings at Fado ao Carmo and Fama d'Alfama. In June 2025 she presented her debut album in Lisbon. The concert runs 75 minutes.
