Víctor Pablo Pérez, honorary conductor, leads the Sinfónica de Tenerife in the A10 concert, given over entirely to A German Requiem, op. 45, by Johannes Brahms. He is joined by the soprano Serena Sáenz, the baritone José Antonio López and the Coro Titular Ópera de Tenerife-Intermezzo. The work is approached from the human experience of loss rather than from ritual.
The A10 concert of the Sinfónica de Tenerife is devoted entirely to A German Requiem, op. 45, by Johannes Brahms, in the Sala Sinfónica of the Auditorio de Tenerife. Víctor Pablo Pérez, honorary conductor, is on the podium, with the soprano Serena Sáenz, the baritone José Antonio López and the Coro Titular Ópera de Tenerife-Intermezzo.
The work is conceived not from ritual but from the human experience of loss, and looks towards those who remain and their search for consolation in the face of the inevitable. A pre-concert talk is held at 18:30 in the Sala Avenida, given by Lourdes Bonnet (ATADEM). Admission is for ages five and over, and the doors close when the concert begins.
