The A9 concert of the Sinfónica de Tenerife is conducted by Ariane Matiakh and presented by Nieves Concostrina. The first half brings together Irina Peña on violin and Ülker Tümer on cello in the Double Concerto in A minor, op. 102, by Johannes Brahms, his last large orchestral work. Beethoven's Symphony no. 5 in C minor, op. 67, follows after the interval.

The programme closes with Beethoven's Symphony no. 5 in C minor, op. 67, set out as a journey from darkness to light and from tension to triumph. A pre-concert talk is held at 18:30 in the Sala Avenida, given by José Lorenzo Chinea (ATADEM). Admission is for ages five and over, and there is no entry once the doors have closed.
