Puro Teatro brings its «gofio western» «La leyenda de Cháchovil» to the old cinema of Arico: a group of Canary Islanders emigrates in search of a better life and ends up founding a town in the American Wild West where Canarian traditions live on. It is on Saturday 24 October at 19:00 in Arico Viejo, with free entry until the hall is full, as part of the Tenerife Amateur Theatre Circuit.
Puro Teatro presents «La leyenda de Cháchovil», a «gofio western» in which a group of Canary Islanders emigrates in search of a better life and ends up founding Cháchovil, an unusual town in the American Wild West where Canarian traditions survive among memories, adventures and plenty of humour. The play is part of the Tenerife Amateur Theatre Circuit 2026, organised by the Cabildo de Tenerife and the Canary Federation of Amateur Theatre (FECANTEA), with the support of Arico Town Council.
The performance is on Saturday 24 October at 19:00 in the Antiguo Cine de Arico, the old cinema at Calle La Degollada 6 in Arico Viejo. Entry is free until the hall is full, according to the company's poster. The evening before, La Farsa plays «No hay 2 sin 3» on the same stage, and on 15 November the Tatrúm theatre company follows with «Doble vida».
