Book launch: «Finados: la cultura de la ausencia en Candelaria» by Zebenzuí López Trujilloverified
On Wednesday 4 November at 18:00, the library of the Espacio Cultural Punta Larga hosts the launch of «Finados: la cultura de la ausencia en Candelaria», Zebenzuí López Trujillo's book on the town's customs around death and the remembrance of the departed. It is part of the «Ánimas y rituales 2026» programme and a good way to get to know this Canarian tradition from the inside.
«Finados: la cultura de la ausencia en Candelaria» is Zebenzuí López Trujillo's book on how the town has lived the night of Finados, the Canarian All Souls' tradition, and more broadly its relationship with death and with those who are gone. It is one of the memory projects of «Ánimas y rituales 2026», the programme in which Candelaria Town Council devotes October and November to the intangible heritage linked to the culture of death.
The launch takes place on Wednesday 4 November 2026 at 18:00, in the library of the Espacio Cultural Punta Larga. It is a municipal cultural event; the agenda lists no price or registration.
