“Parásitos” by Parasitus Teatralis at Canarias Improvisa (Auditorio Capitol, Tacoronte)verified

Culture · Gratis, con reserva previa

The Mexican company Parasitus Teatralis brings “Parásitos” to the Auditorio Capitol in Tacoronte as part of Canarias Improvisa on Wednesday 11 November at 19:00 (time still to be confirmed). The cast takes over the set of another play on the bill and, without having seen it before, improvises a one-off show inside it. Free admission with prior booking.

Parasitus Teatralis is a touring company with its core cast based in Mexico City, directed by Omar Argentino and Romina Coccio, both specialists in improvised theatre. “Parásitos” is an intervention that alters an existing stage: the actors invade the set of a play currently on the bill, which they do not know, and create a one-off piece on the spot, using their own imagination and that of the audience.

The show plays with secrecy from the start. Over the loudspeakers, so-called authorities warn that any parasitic use of a stage is a dramatic offence; the cast arrives from the stalls, sees the stage for the first time and asks the audience how the space could be used. About an hour later an alarm goes off, parasites are announced in the hall and the company flees through the stalls. The performance is on Wednesday 11 November 2026 at the Auditorio Capitol in Tacoronte, as part of the Canarias Improvisa festival. The organisers give 19:00 as a time still to be confirmed, so it is worth checking before going. Admission is free with prior booking.
