Noche, by Alejandro Sawa, tells the story of Don Francisco, an authoritarian and deeply religious father who tries to uphold order and virtue at home through repression and faith. His obsession with morality and appearances leads him to witness the ruin of the very thing he most wants to protect: his own family. Written in 1888, Noche is a feverish novel, a portrait of the moral darkness of an entire family in which some are guiltier than others and, in the end, all are victims, the women most of all.
With this production, Madrid’s Compañía de Teatro Micomicón sets out on a journey into the harshest areas of human nature, in the hope that what it shows lets in some ray of light. The play lasts 90 minutes and is recommended from age 12; general admission costs 8 euros, with unnumbered seating.
