Márcio Faraco & Laurent de Oliveira
The Auditorio de Tenerife hosts a concert by Márcio Faraco and Laurent de Oliveira, a programme of Brazilian music from the Festival Tensamba. It is an intimate evening for voice, guitar and piano, in which the voice and guitar of Faraco hold a dialogue with the pianistic sensibility of De Oliveira. The concert lasts around eighty minutes and is heard in the Sala de Cámara.
The repertoire is an intimate revisiting of Faraco's creative universe and travels through some of the most representative songs of his discography, released on labels such as Universal Music and Harmonia Mundi. The programme combines the poetry of Brazilian popular music, the subtlety of bossa nova, the cadence of samba and the influence of jazz.
Márcio Faraco was born in Alegrete, in southern Brazil, began playing the guitar at ten and has lived in Europe since 1992. His international career started in the early 2000s with the album Ciranda and includes a Latin Grammy nomination. Laurent de Oliveira is a pianist, composer and arranger who trained in classical piano with Wally Karveno.
