Luis Camarero. Places we inhabit: villagesverified
Luis Camarero, professor at UNED, speaks about rural society and how it has changed, inviting the audience to see villages as places of living together, memory, affection and identity, made of houses but also of images. The lecture belongs to the series leading up to the Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote 2026, at the Antiguo Parador in Arrecife, with free admission.
Professor Luis Camarero, who teaches at UNED in Madrid, starts from one idea: a village is half real and half imagined, made of houses and affection but also of images. His journey through the space and time of rural life asks what a village is, and how these small places, woven together by neighbourly ties, change with their inhabitants and also mirror the aspirations of urban society.
It belongs to the “Pueblos” lecture series that leads up to the Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote 2026, organised by the Asociación Tenique Cultural at the Antiguo Parador, the UNED centre in Arrecife. Admission is free. The lecture is on Tuesday 3 November 2026 at 19:30.
