Ópera de Tenerife brings Lohengrin to the Sala Sinfónica of the Auditorio de Tenerife, Richard Wagner's romantic opera in three acts built around the swan knight. Elsa wants to believe: in Lohengrin, in the miracle, in the promise of a saviour who will spare her from facing the complexity of the world. Around her the crowd whispers and lets itself be carried by suspicion, nobody quite asks and nobody quite answers. It is the tragedy of a manipulated trust and of a truth that is never fully spoken, which still resonates whenever people follow messianic voices or simple slogans in the face of painfully complex realities. It is sung in German with Spanish and English surtitles.

The production, from the Fundación Ópera de Oviedo and the Auditorio de Tenerife, is conducted by Paul Daniel and staged by Guillermo Amaya, with the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra in the pit and the Ópera de Tenerife-Intermezzo chorus. The cast brings together Airam Hernández as Lohengrin, Miren Urbieta-Vega as Elsa von Brabant, Magdalena Anna Hofmann as Ortrud, Olafur Sigurdarson as Friedrich von Telramund and Vazgen Gazaryan as Heinrich der Vogler. The performances take place in November 2026 in Santiago Calatrava's building on the seafront in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Tickets range from 10 to 30 euros.
