laGodot esCénica presents La rebelión de las parias, an experimental theatre piece that recovers historical memory to speak about the present. Golden Age verses by silenced women writers such as Ana Abarca de Bolea, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, Leonor de la Cueva y Silva, Ana Caro and María de Zayas share the stage with the prose of other silenced women: those of the Civil War in Spain. Women’s struggle for freedom runs through the piece, which merges the classical and the contemporary, dramatic text, performance language and live music.
Guaxara Baldassarre wrote and directed the piece and performs it with violinist Óscar Guerra Suárez, with composition and musical direction by Lourdes Suárez. At the Premios Réplica 2025 the show received the distinction for Best Lighting along with several nominations. It lasts 60 minutes, is recommended for ages 14 and up, and tickets cost €12. The performance is on Saturday 24 October 2026 at 20:00.
