La memoria compartida (shared memory) is an activity for Library Day: three older people tell a meaningful story from their lives and three young Canarian writers create literature from their testimonies. It grows out of a project led by the Biblioteca Pública del Estado in Santa Cruz de Tenerife to build bonds between generations, bringing young voices of Canarian literature closer to the lives of the older people around them, and the other way round.
This fourth edition features Kenia Martín Padilla, Laura Cabrera de la Rosa and Kalius, together with the poet and prose writer Isabel Expósito, born on El Hierro, and is presented by actress Lidia Franco. The audience witnesses each pair’s dialogue and the three unpublished works, narrated or recited live at Espacio La Granja. It lasts 60 minutes and is recommended for ages 12 and up; admission is free until capacity is reached. The event is on Wednesday 21 October 2026 at 19:00.
