«La Gran Despedida»: Ghanaian workshops for All Saints' Day at Postigos de Embrujo (Santiago del Teide)verified
On Sunday 1 November, All Saints' Day, Postigos de Embrujo 2026 opens its Postigo 3 in Santiago del Teide: «La Gran Despedida», a day devoted to the traditions, rhythm and flavours of Ghana. From 10:00 to 14:30 there is an open session with three workshops for all ages: articulated toys, a food offering to prepare and taste, and a fantasy coffin sculpted together. Advance registration required.
Postigos de Embrujo, the seasonal cycle run by Santiago del Teide town council, devotes its Postigo 3 to the way Ghana bids farewell to its dead. The «Coffin Dancers» workshop builds an articulated toy inspired by Ghana's modern coffin bearers; «Small Chops: el picoteo del tránsito» prepares and tastes the food offering; and «Un ataúd extraordinario (Abebuu ade kai)» sculpts a Ghanaian fantasy coffin as a group.
The day runs on Sunday 1 November from 10:00 to 14:30 as an open session on the Plaza de Santiago del Teide, opposite the church of San Fernando Rey. The workshops require advance registration via WhatsApp on 696 883 856. Children under 6 must always be accompanied by an adult. No price is given.
