The Auditorio de Tenerife hosts the national tour of El fantasma de la ópera, a Letsgo production travelling across Spain after two seasons in Madrid; according to the Auditorio website, the cast will be announced shortly. The synopsis describes it as a story of love, death and disaster between a musical genius hidden in the depths of a theatre and Christine, a young woman with an exceptional voice who ends up discovering what lies behind the mask.
The music is by Andrew Lloyd Webber, with lyrics by Charles Hart, additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe and a libretto by Stilgoe and Lloyd Webber based on the novel by Gaston Leroux; this staging is directed by Federico Bellone. The whole musical is performed in Spanish and runs for two and a half hours with an interval. This performance on Friday 1 January 2027 starts at 21:00 in the Sala Sinfónica, with tickets from 54 euros.
