The A8 concert of the Sinfónica de Tenerife brings together the violinist Isabelle Faust and guest conductor Wilson Ng in the Sala Sinfónica of the Auditorio de Tenerife. The programme opens with The Lost Art of Letter Writing by Brett Dean, for violin and orchestra, in its first performance by the Sinfónica. The piece draws on historical correspondence and turns writing into sounding memory.
The second half is given over to Beethoven's Symphony no. 8 in F major, op. 93, described as short, brilliant and full of musical intelligence. A pre-concert talk takes place at 18:30 in the Sala Avenida, given by Cristina Arnay (ATADEM). Admission is for ages five and over, and there is no entry once the doors have closed.
