The XXVII Travesía a Nado “Isla de Lobos – Isla de Fuerteventura” links the two islands with a 3,500-metre swim and is a round of the IX Copa Canaria Open de Aguas Abiertas and the IV Circuito Canario. The start is signalled by a horn near Punta Marrajo on Isla de Lobos, and the finish is on the ramp of the Muelle Deportivo or on another nearby beach, as the organisers decide. The course is marked with buoys and escorted by inflatables and canoes; a swim buoy is compulsory, and anyone still in the water after 120 minutes has to retire. The race takes place in a protected natural area, and Club Deportivo Herbania organises it along sustainability criteria.
It is open to swimmers aged 15 and over, federated or not. Entry cost 55 €, with 10% going to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), and all 300 places have sold out; a reserve list remains. Race numbers are collected on Saturday 17, and swimmers must be at the boarding area at 11:00 for the transfer to Lobos. Sunday 18 October 2026, start at 12:00.
