6th Festival Contemporáneo: Ensemble Sonido Extremoverified
Ensemble Sonido Extremo, a group based in Extremadura and committed to the many languages of today’s academic music, closes the 6th Festival Contemporáneo, organised by the Government of the Canary Islands. Conducted by Jordi Francés, it performs five works by contemporary Spanish composers, including the premiere of a piece by the Canarian composer José Luis Perdigón. Tickets cost 3 to 5 euros.
The closing concerts of the 6th Festival Contemporáneo are given by Ensemble Sonido Extremo, a collective of performers founded in 2009 that has given the world premieres of more than 60 works. The programme brings together ‘Arlecchino’ by Planells, ‘Jenseits dieseits’ by J.M. López López, ‘Absolute!’ by Rueda and ‘Machaut Architektur’ I and V by M. Sánchez Verdú.
The programme ends with the premiere of ‘icebergs melt at night’ by the Canarian composer José Luis Perdigón. Jordi Francés, the group’s artistic and musical director, conducts. Tickets cost between 3 and 5 euros. The concert is at Teatro Guiniguada in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on Sunday 11 October 2026 at 19:00.
