The San Luis arch of fruit and vegetables is shared out among the neighbours, followed by the communal paella.
The Arco de San Luis is an arch loaded with fruit and vegetables, part of a family of plant offerings found across the island: from the Arco de San Pedro at La Rambla de Castro in Los Realejos to the Corazones de Tejina. Its origin is uncertain and connects with the farming past of the western side of Santa Úrsula, where the saint processed between large estates along the Camino Real del Norte.
It has one peculiarity: the arch was not mounted at the door of the Ermita de San Luis, but at one of the side gates of the El Calvario enclosure. Its survival is largely due to Antonio El Negro. It used to be built for the 25th and taken down when the Baile del Remango arrived.
After the arch is shared out, the traditional communal paella is served.
