The second and last performance of 'The golden dragon' by Péter Eötvös, after the one on 25 September. Ópera de Tenerife programmes it within its pre-season strand 'Ópera en minúscula', and it is a new production of the Auditorio de Tenerife that opens at the Teatro Leal. It is based on the play of the same name by Roland Schimmelpfennig, a contemporary tragedy in a grotesque key. Tickets cost 10 euros.
'The golden dragon' by Péter Eötvös comes to the Teatro Leal in its second and last performance, after the one on 25 September. It is a new production of the Auditorio de Tenerife, programmed by Ópera de Tenerife within its pre-season strand 'Ópera en minúscula'.
The work is based on the play of the same name by Roland Schimmelpfennig, a contemporary performative tragedy in a grotesque key. The plot begins with a young Chinese woman without a residence permit suffering severe toothache in the kitchen of the fast food restaurant El Dragón de Oro, and gradually adds the stories of the other residents of the building, interspersed with the fable of the cicada and the ant. Tickets cost 10 euros.
