Family workshops at Festival Boreal: sandunga, watercolour and Canarian kokedama on Plaza de la Luzverified

Saturday 19 is the busiest day of Festival Boreal's socio-environmental programme on Plaza de la Luz in Los Silos: eight workshops from late morning until eight in the evening, all free to attend and designed to be done as a family.

The morning opens with a rhythm and movement workshop, continues with painting the local fauna and flora, and ends with a session on capturing a memory inside a jar. The afternoon turns more hands-on: building a sandunga, the traditional Canarian instrument, watercolour illustration of marine biodiversity, a collage workshop taken further, face painting and, to close, Canarian kokedama. Everything takes place on the square itself. Places in each workshop are limited, so it is worth arriving before the stated time, especially for the afternoon sessions, which overlap with each other.
