Festival Boreal is not only the concert stage. In parallel, on Plaza de la Luz in Los Silos, the festival runs its socio-environmental programme: a whole afternoon of workshops and shows designed to be done as a family, with free admission.
Friday 18 starts at midday with a handmade soap workshop and continues in the afternoon with an urban dance showcase, an introduction to textile lino printing on your own garment, a workshop on reuse and decoration, face painting for the little ones and, at the end of the day, a storytelling show that carries on as a workshop. The workshops take place on the square itself, except for the closing show, which is split between Sala PĂ©rez EnrĂquez and the square. Places are limited, so it is worth arriving before the starting time. This programme is separate from the concerts on the main site, which take place on the car park esplanade of the historic centre from 5 p.m. and require a ticket. Noon to 2 p.m. workshop «CĂłmo hacer un jabĂłn y no morir en el intento», with Juan Dorta. 5 to 6 p.m. showcase by Loreto MĂ©ndez's urban dance school. 5 to 7 p.m. workshop «Estampa tu propia prenda», an introduction to textile lino printing, with Amalia Peeters de Flores and Cristian Agudelo. 5:30 to 7 p.m. workshop «RevĂ©late. Reutiliza, decora, enciende tu magia», with Miriam Cuellar PĂ©rez and Carla Firmino Ribeiro. 6 to 8 p.m. face-painting workshop «BoreArte», with CreArte (Guasi Acosta). 6:30 to 8 p.m. show and workshop «Recuentacuentos No tires nada» and «TĂłcalo primero», with Alessandro Ferrato and Laura Valle, at Sala PĂ©rez EnrĂquez and on Plaza de la Luz.
