Since 2016 the Tenerife Live Arts and Citizenship Laboratory (TenerifeLAV) and the Neeve-Micromusic collective, which promotes contemporary electronic music, have run the Sun Dance Family Sessions: family sessions of electronic music, dance and wellbeing at the Teatro Leal in La Laguna. A DJ and a movement professional guide children and adults through a practice designed to loosen up the body and dance together. Each session includes a short physical warm-up and movement prompts before the playful part begins.
Around thirty sessions have been held in the Sala de Cámara of the Teatro Leal since 2016, and more than fifteen hundred people have danced at them. Seats for people with reduced mobility are booked by phone or at the Teatro Leal box office; on Sundays the box office opens two hours before the performance. Sunday 18 October 2026, at 11:30.
