Subida de los Cestos y Bollos: basket procession for Santa Bárbaraverified

In the Santa Bárbara neighbourhood of Icod de los Vinos, the offering to the patron saint is carried up in baskets loaded with bread rolls and local produce. It is a tradition that is not repeated in quite this form anywhere else.

The climb is accompanied by parranda bands and ends in a neighbourhood celebration.

On arrival, there is dancing with Malibú Band, Arguayo Band and Orquesta Dinacord. The fiesta committee asks participants to come in traditional Canarian dress.
