For almost two weeks, El Socorro beach in Los Realejos hosts five surfing competitions brought together under the Socorro Classic name, with around 300 athletes confirmed according to the organisers. The schedule: from 6 to 8 October, the European Tour of Longboard (ETL); from 7 to 10 October, the European Tour of Bodyboard (ETB) event; on 11 and 12 October, the Spanish Junior Surfing Circuit event and the Canary Islands surf open; and on the weekend of 17 and 18 October, an inter-club team contest in surf, bodyboard and longboard.
There is also a programme of side events: films, workshops, exhibitions and live music. The Socorro Classic Sounds music sessions are announced for Friday 9, Saturday 10, Sunday 11, Friday 16 and Saturday 17 October. No fixed daily start times are published for the contests, because in surfing the schedule depends on the sea. Suitable for families and all ages.
