Santiago de Letras 2026: second cultural book fair on the Plaza de la Iglesiaverified
The second edition of Santiago de Letras turns the Plaza de la Iglesia in Santiago del Teide into a meeting point for authors, readers and booksellers, under the motto «Letras al cielo». Saturday 3 October from 10:30 to 20:00 and Sunday 4 from 11:00 to 14:00, with conversations, workshops, storytelling, a book fair and a closing concert by Sandra Santana. Free entry.
Santiago de Letras reaches its second edition under the motto «Letras al cielo», and it is not set up as a conventional book fair: for one weekend the square becomes a meeting place for authors, readers, booksellers and neighbours, with conversations, workshops, storytelling and music. The public programme is concentrated on the Plaza de la Iglesia, the same square that appears in the street register as plaza de Santiago del Teide.
Saturday 3 October opens at 10:30 with the street parade of the Fanfarria de Santiago del Teide and the opening ceremony at 10:45. At 11:00, a family session with Diego Reinfeld around «El monstruo cobarde» and a literary breakfast with Helen Rytkönen, Laura Delgado, Sara Maher and Ceci Wallace. At 11:30, Iago Fandiño's haiku workshop sets off from the square, and at 12:00 fourth-year pupils tell the story of their literary journey to Miño. At 13:00, «Nuevas voces canarias» with Marcos Dosantos, Antonio Martín Piñero and Sophia Hidalgo. In the afternoon: 17:00 «Poesía para todas las tallas», 17:30 comics workshop with Fran Rodríguez Vié, 18:00 a session with Ceci Wallace, 19:00 May R. Ayamonte and Pedro Martí, and at 20:00 a closing concert by Sandra Santana. Sunday 4 begins at 11:00 with the Biblioteca Viva Intercultural and storytelling by Siracusa Librero; at 11:30, a children's workshop with Jennifer Alexandra based on her book «El nudo de Alexandra»; at 12:00, «Escribir desde la periferia» with Ana Nayra Gorrín, Jesús Barranco, Iván Cabrera Cartaya and Montse Díaz; at 13:00, a session with Alfredo Relaño, and at 14:00 the closing. The book fair is open on Saturday from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 21:00, and on Sunday from 11:00 to 14:00. Some workshops have limited places and require booking in advance.
