Mass, procession and tableau in honour of the Virgen del Carmenverified

The central act of the fiestas is on Saturday night. At 20:00 mass is held in honour of Ntra. Sra. del Carmen, patron of seafarers, with music by the Gándara senior citizens' group. The procession then goes out through the hamlet, accompanied by the Villa de Mazo Music School, and at the end a living tableau is staged. This is the moment when La Salemera fills up, right before the 22:00 verbena.

Practical note from the programme: on Saturday 19 September the road is closed at 10:15 and at 14:55 for the 51st Rallye La Palma Isla Bonita, so allow extra time to reach La Salemera.
