Romería and Offering in honour of Nuestra Señora del Pilar through Guanartemeverified
The Romería and Offering in honour of Nuestra Señora del Pilar sets off on Sunday 11 October at 18:00 from calle Pavía and crosses Guanarteme to the Plaza del Pilar, with folk groups and local organisations. At 20:00 in the square the image of the Virgin is brought out and the Offering is received. It is the eve of the Pilar feast, within the festival held from 30 September to 12 October.
The Romería in honour of Nuestra Señora del Pilar begins on Sunday 11 October at 18:00 in calle Pavía, in the Guanarteme neighbourhood of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with various folk groups and local organisations taking part. It is the eve of the Pilar feast and one of the main events of the Fiestas de la Virgen del Pilar 2026, held from 30 September to 12 October.
The route leaves calle Pavía and continues along Simancas, Covadonga, Secretario Padilla, El Salvador, Vergara and Lepanto until it reaches the Plaza del Pilar. At 19:00 there is a Eucharist in the parish church. At 20:00, in the Plaza de Nuestra Señora del Pilar, the image of the Virgin is brought out and the Offering is received; the popular programme lists the Offering and a performance by the parranda La Polvajera at that time. The floral offering to the Virgen del Pilar at the church door takes place on 11 and 12 October.
