The Romería Barquera crosses Abades, a coastal pilgrimage recalling the village's fishing past.
The Romería Barquera is the most popular event of the Abades patron saint festivities, in the municipality of Arico. It sets off at 18:00 on Saturday 8 August.
Abades is a coastal settlement in the southeast of Tenerife, and the pilgrimage keeps the name of the barqueras, the women who sold the fish. At night, at 21:30, the 12th Drag Gala follows.
