The raising of the flag and the ringing of the bells open the festivities of the Santo Domingo neighbourhood.
The raising of the flag is the act that officially opens the 2026 festivities in honour of Saint Dominic de Guzmán in the coastal neighbourhood of Santo Domingo, in La Guancha.
It takes place at 12:00 on Sunday 2 August, and the bulk of the programme starts four days later, on Thursday the 6th.
