Procesión Magna of the Santísimo Cristo de la Salud with fireworks in Aronaverified
On Monday 5 October, the day of the Santísimo Cristo de la Salud, an 18:30 Mass in the Plaza del Santísimo Cristo de la Salud, sung by the group AL SUR, opens the evening. At 19:30 the Procesión Magna sets off with the Banda de Música de Arona and the San Juan Bautista drum and bugle band, musical offerings by Chago Melian, Isabel González and A.F. Verodal with the voices of Iván Quintana and Ayla Rodríguez, and fireworks.
Monday 5 October is the main feast day of the Santísimo Cristo de la Salud, Alcalde Perpetuo (perpetual mayor) of the municipality of Arona. The day opens with the diana floreada, a musical wake-up call through the streets of Arona casco, at 07:00, the ringing of the bells at 08:00 and a solemn Mass at 11:00, followed by the traditional besapié, the kissing of the image's feet. In the evening, after Mass in the Plaza del Santísimo Cristo de la Salud sung by the group AL SUR, the Procesión Magna follows El Calvario, Domínguez Alfonso, La Luna and Duque de la Torre and returns to the church, with the Banda de Música de Arona, the San Juan Bautista drum and bugle band, musical offerings by Chago Melian, Isabel González and A.F. Verodal with the voices of Iván Quintana and Ayla Rodríguez, and a fireworks display.
The Mass in honour of the Santísimo Cristo de la Salud and Nuestra Señora del Rosario begins on Monday 5 October 2026 at 18:30, and the Procesión Magna sets off at 19:30. The programme may be subject to change.
