Procession of the Virgen de los Dolores and fireworks display
The fiestas close on Sunday 11 October at 20:00 with the procession of the venerated image of the Virgen de los Dolores, accompanied by the Hermandad del Cristo de la Buena Muerte and the Banda San Miguel from La Laguna. A fireworks display by the Hermanos Toste pyrotechnics company follows. It is the final act of a programme that began on 2 October with Los Lomos Trail.
The closing act comes at 20:00 on Sunday 11 October: the procession of the venerated image of the Virgen de los Dolores through the streets of Barranco Hondo, carried by women and men of the neighbourhood and accompanied by the Hermandad del Cristo de la Buena Muerte and the Banda San Miguel from La Laguna.
When the procession ends there is a fireworks display by the Hermanos Toste pyrotechnics company. Worth bearing in mind if you are travelling with pets or with anyone sensitive to noise. Candelaria town hall states that the image of the Virgen de los Dolores is kept in the church of San José, in the centre of the neighbourhood.
